Sleightholm Folk Art

Gallery Opening

Gallery Opening

Throughout December, our gallery space will be featuring the warm and homey exhibit Swedish Folk Christmas Healther Sleightholm of Sleightholm Folk Art.

Sleightholm Folk Art is a collection of original art, prints and notecards created by Oklahoma artist Heather Sleightholm. Using warm tones and rustic settings, Heather‘s work often features scenes of family, faith, history and a connection to the outdoors. This December’s Swedish Christmas Event at Made showcases beloved Scandinavian Christmas icons such as St. Lucia, the “bringer of light”, folksy dala horses, religious portraits with a bit of Swedish flair, and of course— tomtes, or Christmas gnomes. Sleightholm’s goal with this collection of art is to celebrate the peace and vibrancy of the season, inspired by the unique Christmas culture of the Swedes— the masters of a cozy winter.

The ideals of Swedish Christmas have relevance for all of us and demonstrate a great way for us to celebrate the holidays.

Join us for a celebration of the Christmas season with the unique blend of Swedish Folkart, Americana, and Byzantine iconography that only Sleightholm Folk Art can bring together.
