About this piece

Saint Clare of Assisi Patroness of Quilters and Needle Workers

Clara was well born. She heard St. Francis preach and was so moved by him that she followed him. He placed her in a convent. Eventually she established the Poor Clares who lived a simple life of poverty and seclusion. She emulated and cared for Francis whom she saw as a profound spiritual teacher.

St. Clare's words:

“Go forth in peace, for you have followed the good road. Go forth without fear, for he who created you has made you holy, has always protected you, and loves you as a mother. Blessed be you, my God, for having created me.” Made in United States of America
